Rocking It by Angela Walker

Features

ARTIST NOTES: I love colours and stories about our awesome country and this artwork was inspired by some of the rocky landscapes in beautiful Tasmania. It’s concept developed through the process of collaging images I liked together and was then painted. It’s a realistic style painting that expresses both my love of the land we live in and my interest in geographical features in the landscape. A bright and colourful piece that would enhance any room in your home. Painted in a realistic style it has non textured finish and vanished to protect the oil paint.

I am an artist living in rural Australia who loves to tell stories in my artworks. Stories that define us and our links to the environment. Stories that are fun, quirky and thought or conversation provoking.

My passion for art led me to complete formal studies through Curtin University where I obtained a degree in Fine Arts & Visual Culture.

My artwork style is realistic often with a touch of surrealism, mostly using oils on canvas or linen. I love colours, people and places using them to capture stories and emotions that are often unexpected. My art is informed by my local surroundings, my love of dancing and how we are linked to the land we live in. I love the Australian landscape, the way dance movement can mimic nature and the visual language that expresses these combinations.

My artworks are unique one of a kind pieces for people appreciate fine art.

Artworks are held in private collections nationally and internationally.

Artists that inspire me include Leonardo da Vinci, Dorothea Tanning and Salvador Dali to name a few.
