ARTIST BIO

About the Artist - Diane Yousouf

Diane is a Sydney based Contemporary Artist working in oils, acrylics, soft pastels and watercolour.

As a child  Diane was always drawing and painting. She achieved First Level Art, English and Science in High School. Diane went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in 1978. After an interesting career in Science and laboratory work, Diane studied art with Linda Simonis from 2003 to 2015. She also attended workshops and demonstrations with local and international artists. Plein air painting and sketching are a great way to develop skills as an artist, and Diane regularly paints or sketches on location.

The distinctive Australian light is the inspiration for many of her paintings. Diane's works are held in private collections in Australia and overseas.

Diane has held various positions on the committee of Bankstown Art Society. These included being the society Social Secretary and the Bankstown Art Society's delegate to the Combined Art Societies of Sydney committee. She was the Vice President and Secretary for the Bankstown Art Society for three years.  Holding these positions with BAS provided a wonderful opportunity to support the BAS members and promote the society within the local community.

At the end of 2022 she accepted the role as Exhibition Manager with the Combined Art Socities of Sydney (CASS). CASS held several exhibitions and some weekend workshops during 2023. Diane continues to be an enthusiastic supporter of CASS innitiatives.

Diane is currently an exhibiting member with the Combined Art Societies of Sydney, Friends of Campbelltown Regional Art Gallery and Drummoyne Art Society.
